Mary Ann is an expert in human resources who specialises in strategic HR & recruitment. She has substantial recruitment and people management experience in the retail, theatre, hospitality and media industries. Tim has extensive experience in management consultancy, facilitation and executive coaching. He has worked with clients on business planning, organisational design, and the design and delivery of leadership development programmes. Tim and Mary Ann are both graduates of the University of Kent. As well as helping companies to work in more purposeful, more productive and more rewarding ways Year One Consulting has three main principles which are key to the company ethos: •to act as an advocate for the arts; •to support local performing arts ventures. •to encourage creativity and enterprise in young people. Since 2006 Year One has been a sponsor of the Canterbury Festival. They have sponsored many other arts events across the city such as Orange Street Music’s ‘Summer of Jazz’ Festival, the launch of The Gulbenkian Theatre’s ‘Cine Club’ and the Kings School ‘Save the Children’ Charity Annual Concert. More recently Year One has launched FizzBuzzJazz, a quarterly gathering for people working within the creative and cultural sector, bringing together a inspiring mix of practitioners, entrepreneurs, policy makers and innovators.
