Kent’s film makers dominate festival
Kent film makers had a night of celebrations at the The London Independent Film Festival, when they picked up three out of the nine available international awards.
‘Best UK Feature film’ went to Ramsgate’s Medb Films for the bittersweet film Ruby Blue, starring Bob Hoskins.
‘Jury Prize for Best Short film’ also went to Medb Films, for Elaine Wickham’s directorial debut My Mother featuring Susannah Harker and Georgia Groome.
Finally ‘Best No Budget Feature Film’ went to Simon Welsford with his film Jetsam, filmed entirely on the East Coast of Kent.
Vikki Rimmer
Kent’s Vikki Rimmer, winner of the Freelance Achievement of 2007 has won the PR contract for Phil Parker, designer of The Phil Parker Lightning Process, a therapy that has helped people who suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome also known as M.E. The Process is a three day training program combining Neuro linguistic programming with hypnotherapy and osteopathy.
Red Ant in Maidstone, have successfully completed the Thanet based, Hornby website, appealing through its main four brands and translated into four European languages.
The results are looking good, and with figures showing visitors spending double the previous times on the website, the partnership working well.

GOGO – The revolutionary new mobile messaging system
Canterbury and Leeds based marketing agency ‘an agency called England’ has developed gogo; a paperless, permissions-based, cost-effective mobile marketing system that sends information to mobile phones using Bluetooth technology.
Maidstone Music, one of the many offerings within the newly rebranded Hazlitt Arts Centre, has launched their website. Brightly coloured Maidstone Music branded banners were spotted throughout the Radio 1 Big Weekend at Mote Park, and have sparked a rise in visitors to the site already.
Musicians and venues can visit the website www.maidstonemusic.co.uk and upload event information. The project is a collaborative partnership between Pillory Barn Creative and Red Ant.

Faversham production company Montrose Media, have been busy over the past few weeks providing stadium production services for The UEFA Cup Final, The FA Cup Final, Coco Cola play off finals and the RBS Six Nations Tour.
