Kent County Council is seeking to commission an individual or an organisation to create an evidence base to support the development of Culture in Kent and to underpin the Kent Cultural Strategy. The project is one of two pilots to test the South East England Development Agency’s new Cultural and Creative Economy Opportunities Framework.  The Cultural and Creative Economy Opportunities Framework is a portal for gathering data and evidence to support the cultural and creative economy in the South East.  At the heart of the framework is a geographical information system which allows asset-based data to be displayed alongside sub-regional statistical data.  The successful candidate(s) will be asked to achieve the following objectives:

To create an evidence base to support the Kent Cultural Strategy using the Cultural and Creative Economy Opportunities Framework.

To test the Cultural and Creative Opportunities Framework within a practical context i.e. the need to develop an evidence-base to support
the development of a cultural strategy that achieves cultural, social and economic benefits for the County.

To act as a pilot for the national CASE partnership proposals for developing regional and local data sets, and the CASE framework for
auditing cultural assets

To complement the concurrent pilot being undertaken by the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire (PUSH) so that the two pilots can inform
each other and the future development of the Cultural and Creative Opportunities Framework.

To write up a blueprint of the project for dissemination to a wide audience, capturing the learning points from the pilot

It is envisaged that this project will be completed by March 2010.
